A man aged in his 20s has been shot in the legs in a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast.
It happened in the Carrigart Avenue area on Thursday evening.
Police said the man is being treated for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
They have condemned the shooting as "despicable".
A spokesperson said: "Those involved in this type of attack do not represent the interests of any community, nor do they contribute anything to it."
Detectives remain at the scene of the shooting, which was reported at around 7.40pm.
They have urged anyone who witnessed what happened, or has any further information, to come forward via the number 101.
