A patient in Belfast who was suspected of contracting the coronavirus, has tested negative for the condition.
In a statement, the Department of Health confirmed that the man does not have the virus, and the risk in Northern Ireland remains low.
They added that the Department is working closely with the World Health Organisation to monitor the situation
Northern Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Michael McBride said:
“I am being kept fully informed about the steps being taken to protect the public by the Public Health Agency and I am providing the Minister with regular updates.”
