The Titanic Exhibition Centre has announced a £3m investment as part of a gallery refreshment programme.

Since opening in 2012, the centre has generated £319m for the Northern Ireland economy.

Since then, six million visitors have walked through its doors from over 145 different countries - with almost 90% of them coming from outside Northern Ireland.

The money raised has grown from £38m on average in its first three years, to £60m per year.

The new investment will be its biggest since the centre opened.

Jackie Henry, Office Senior Partner at Deloitte Northern Ireland, who conducted the independent evaluation, said: "Having evaluated Titanic Belfast’s story from the outset, it stands out as one of Northern Ireland’s shining success stories.

"The report shows that Titanic Belfast is not just sustaining, but growing in popularity as a visitor attraction."
