A post-ceasefire barrier in Lurgan is set to be removed by the end of this summer.

The steel interface fence, which is almost two-and-a-half metres high, was erected at Margretta Park in 1999, one year after the Good Friday Agreement.

It's one of dozens of barriers which separate unionist and nationalist communities here.

Local Councillor Peter Lavery says it was the residents in the community who wanted the change.
