A man has died after being hit by a car while walking his dog in the Knocknagoney area of east Belfast on Tuesday night.

The incident, involving a white Toyota Aygo, happened in the Henderson Court area of the city at about 8.20pm.

The male driver of the car was not injured in the collision.

PSNI Inspector Natalie McNally said: “I am appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area last night and who witnessed the collision, or anyone who has any dash-cam or mobile phone footage of the collision, to contact local officers in Strandtown or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.”
