The number of people who have died after testing positive for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland has risen to 454, according to the latest figures.

The Department of Health’s data dashboard shows that two more people have died in the last 24 hours, while three deaths have occurred prior to that period, but were not previously reported.

The true figure is expected to be much higher when all deaths in community settings have been accounted for.

A total of 1,405 more tests have been carried out and 38 people have tested positive.

The occupancy rate of hospital beds is recorded as sitting at 74% and there are 36 ICU beds available.

UK-wide, a further 428 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus, taking the total to 33,614.

A total of 1,593,902 people have been tested, of whom 233,151 tested positive.
