A female pedestrian is in a critical condition after being struck by a black Nissan Leaf on Friday 5 June.

It happened shortly after 6pm on the Stewartstown Road, close to the Suffolk Day Centre.

The victim was taken to hospital where her condition is described as critical.

The driver of the car, a 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily injury and has since been released on bail to return at a future date.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the Stewartstown Road at around 6pm yesterday and witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have captured phone or dash-cam footage.
