Boy, 11, rescued after falling four metres down manhole in Dungannon

An 11-year-old boy has been rescued after falling down a manhole in Dungannon.

Emergency services were called to Oaks Road shortly before 7pm on 30 March after receiving a report of a concern for the safety of a young male.

Firefighters used specialist breathing apparatus and a harness to rescue the boy from the four-metre-deep hole.

He was understood to be conscious, but with minor injuries to his back and was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital after being assessed at the scene by paramedics.
