Out with the old and in with the new at Carrick-a-Rede

A new bridge has been installed at Carrick-a-Rede on the North Coast.

Hundreds of thousands of tourists come to see it every year, but this week it has been a case of out with the old and in with the new.

The old bridge was hauled away and replaced with a steel rope bridge - and UTV reporter Judith Hill has been among the first to see it.

The road that is home to the Dark Hedges in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, has been named as one of the world’s most beautiful streets by an American publication.

The Bregagh Road was named in its top 10 most beautiful streets in the world by Architectural Digest.

It is in exalted company, with the Champs-Élysées in Paris and San Francisco’s Lombard Street also featuring.

The road has become famous as the ‘King’s Road’ in the HBO series Game of Thrones.
