The deputy First Minister has said that Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay should 'seriously consider his position' if allegations of inappropriate conduct are proven true.
It comes after claims that McKay coached Jamie Bryson ahead of his appearances in front of the NAMA inquiry.
"The allegations surrounding North Antrim MLA Daithí McKay are profoundly disturbing," he said.
"If the allegations of inappropriate contact prove to be true, then Daithí McKay needs to seriously consider his position as an MLA.
"I want to state categorically that I had absolutely no knowledge of this exchange or contact.
"And having spoken to all relevant personnel in the Assembly I am now entirely satisfied that Sinn Féin had no knowledge of any such contact."
Six people remain under criminal investigation over NI's biggest ever property sale, according to the head of the National Crime Agency.
Maírtín Ó Muilleoir insists he has no questions to answer over the Jamie Bryson coaching scandal which forced MLA Daithí McKay to resign.
A former Nama adviser has rejected allegations he was to receive a success fee connected to the sale of the Northern Ireland portfolio.
