- Glenavon 5-0 Ballymena United
Glenavon brought an abrupt end to Ballymena United’s recent string of good results as they inflicted a 5-0 defeat on the Sky Blues at Mourneview Park.
It took the Lurgan Blues just nine minutes to take the lead when Eoin Bradley steered home a 20-yard free kick, and the former Derry GAA star turned provider soon after when he threaded the ball to Ciaran Martyn to fire home in the 22nd minute.
Jim Ervin scored an unfortunate own goal when he diverted a speculative effort from Andy Hall into his own net in the 29th minute as Glenavon led 3-0 at the break.
There was no way back for David Jeffrey’s side when Bradley smashed home his second of the afternoon following a defensive error ten minutes from time, and Greg Moorehouse added a fifth in the 87th minute to complete a miserable afternoon for the visitors.
