Top local companies named at 10th UTV Business Eye Awards

The tenth annual UTV Business Eye Awards have been held at Belfast's Waterfront Hall, where the work of local firms and figures within Northern Ireland business was recognised.

Cookstown-based construction material manufacturers Keystone Group scooped the prize for Company of the Year, while leading hotelier Bill Wolsey was named Business Personality of the Year.

Over 700 guests were in attendance for the ceremony which also saw Jack and Jim Dobson, founders of Dungannon-based meat processing group Dunbia, given a double Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The Young Business Personality of the Year award went to Chris Martin of Belfast online retailer Ozaroo, while The Deluxe Group, from Portadown, won SME of the Year.

US giants Allstate won the title of Employer of the Year.

With new sponsors Emirates, judging for this year's awards took place in Dubai, at the world's tallest dedicated hotel, the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel.

Michael Wilson, managing director of UTV Television said of the awards, "UTV strives togive the business sector the voice and strong platform to not only bring about change and investment where needed, but most importantly to recognise and celebrate all that has been achieved by the Northern Ireland business community over the last year.”

The UTV Business Eye Awards in association with Emirates will be televised in a special programme, broadcast on UTV on Tuesday, 6th December, at 22.40.
