Welsh Country Foods: Anglesey Council holds meeting over meat plant closure fears

The leader of Anglesey Council will today hold a meeting with union representatives of workers and farmers who could be affected by a possible closure of a meat processing plant on Anglesey.

Three-hundred and fifty jobs are at risk at Welsh Country Foods in Gaerwen after supermarket chain Asda said it was switching suppliers of its lamb.

The factory is owned by parent company Vion.
