On Coast & Country tonight Carl Edwards explores the regeneration of Barry Island.

It was once the jewel in South Wales' crown, one of the busiest seaside towns in the UK, which at its peak attracted a quarter of a million visitors in just one weekend.

With its own Pleasure Park, a holiday camp and of course the beach, Barry Island was the place to be in South Wales. But in recent years many of us have seen that once famous island deteriorate into a forgotten resort.

But regeneration is starting to affect the area, with the famous Pleasure Park re-opening and the development of the Barry Island beach huts - although these wont be ready until the summer.
