Stormtroopers invited to Star Wars fan's wedding

Bride Sophie Sims had an out-of-this-world wedding - with Star Wars Stormtroopers standing either side of the altar.

Move fan Sophie surprised her new husband Jarred by inviting the white-armoured soldiers as special guests at their big day.

Romantic Sophie, 26, arranged for the the Death Star troopers in helmets and guns to be a guard of honour - but Darth Vader was banned from the ceremony.

Jarred loves Star Wars so the Stormtroopers made the perfect surprise.

When he saw them walking down the aisle he was looking at me and shaking his head because he couldn't believe it.

Jarred, 26, met his wife-to-be while they were studying at Aberystwyth University in West Wales - he was part of the American football team and she was a cheerleader.

The couple got married at Oldwalls hotel at Gower, picking a date which coincided with the meteor shower.

The couple their wedding by watching a meteor shower in the night skies.

We knew it was happening, but we didn't think we'd be able to see anything as it was supposed to be cloudy.

We sat with our families and watched the shooting stars it was the perfect ending to the day.

The groomsmen wore super hero cufflinks and at one point Jarred pulled his shirt open to reveal a batman costume underneath.

Sophie said: "It just went in a flash, I can't believe all the planning is over, but it couldn't have been a better day."
