Carmarthen rapist jailed for nine years

A man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for the rape and attempted assault of a woman in Carmarthen town centre.

His victim was found at St David's Church graveyard in Carmarthen on the morning of August 4th, 2015.

29 year-old Claudiu Strungaru, of Johnstown, pleaded guilty before Swansea Crown Court to the charges of rape and attempted assault. He was handed an immediate nine year sentence.
