Appeal after worker's wage packet is 'stolen' from cornershop

Gwent Police are appealing for information to identify a man who they would like to speak to in connection with a theft of a wage packet.

Officers say the wage packet was taken from the Premier Store on St Luke's Road in Pontypool between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday 31st October.

The wage packet which was brown in colour and included a week's wages for a member of staff working at the store.

CCTV images show a man arrived in a dark blue/navy coloured Volkswagon Passat estate and that he was the front seat passenger.

The man has entered the store and asked the victim if they could change some £20 notes to £10 notes.

Police say while the shop worker was distracted the man reached behind the counter and took the money.
