Heartbroken pet owner leaves tennis balls on beach in memorial to her beloved dog

A heartbroken dog-lover has left a touching gift in memory of her beloved border collie - a box of tennis balls for other pets to play with at her favourite beach.

Alison Lenihan, 48, left a picture of pet Meg alongside a note saying:

Please take a ball and enjoy a game with your dog in memory of our beautiful girl.

In a note attached to the free balls and the picture of Meg, Alison wrote:

In memory of Meg Please take a ball & enjoy a game with your dog in memory of our beautiful girl. Meg loved the beach and loved life! And we love and miss her. So much.
