Adrian's Welsh Bites: Cooking up a storm with weather presenter Sian Lloyd

In tonight's episode of Welsh Bites, former weather presenter Sian Lloyd heads into the kitchen with our Political Editor Adrian Masters.

Born in Maesteg and raised in Neath, Sian Lloyd has had a wide and varied career both on and off screen.

Best known for her work as ITV’s weather presenter, she has become a household name in both the Welsh and English languages.

She has also enjoyed a career in reality TV appearing on programmes such as I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

Sian presented the ITV weather forecasts for over two decades

I was always interested in being a journalist.

But, I loved studying meteorology. I was determined that you've got to know what you're talking about. And it was the toughest thing I've ever done.

Ms Lloyd was also in a relationship with MP Lembit Opik in 2002 and was engaged to him in 2004, but the pair split in 2006.

I think I was more in love with the politics than the politician.

I'd love to be in the Lords - that's never going to happen...but I'd rather hold strong opinions in the side lines and I really think they can make a difference.

After continuing her career in television and organising events for charities, Sian now works as a freelance travel and food writer.

I'm in my 50s and I'm still working, which wouldn't have been the case 20 years ago.

What I am is an example that it's never to late to do anything.
