Residents urged to keep windows and doors closed after scrap yard fire

Residents living near Fforestfach Industrial Estate in Swansea have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed after a large fire at a scrap yard.

Crews were called to the area just before 6am on Monday morning.

Over 70 firefighters are currently at the scene of the fire, which involves a large quantity of tyres, cylinders and scrap vehicles.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a "multi-agency briefing" was held this morning with police, Swansea City Council, Natural Resources Wales and other agencies.

Public Health Wales has also advised people to stay away from the area.
