A burglar has been jailed for three years after he broke into a house and came face-to-face with a 6ft 3in professional boxer.
David Large, 34, was caught in the act by boxer Craig "The Kid" Kennedy as he slept upstairs with his wife and six-month-old son.
A court heard 14st Craig went into full "family protection mode" - and chased the burglar over a 7ft fence.
The Welsh cruiserweight boxer put Large in a hold and wrapped his body around him "like an anaconda."
Craig, who was wearing just boxer shorts, said his girlfriend was woken by noises at around 5.30am at the home in Trowbridge, Cardiff.
As I went into the kitchen, I could see a white male with a towel against the kitchen window and a hammer to try and put through the double glazing.
Large ran off and Craig - who has eight knockouts in 17 bouts - shouted to his girlfriend to stay in the bedroom and lock the door before chasing the burglar.
He jumped over a seven foot wall with nails sticking out of the top. I was still in family protection mode, so I jumped over it as well. My girlfriend said I cleared the wall completely, which was lucky because I was still in my boxers and could have opened myself up on the nails.
John Warren, prosecuting, said when Large was arrested he was found with a black bag, containing cash and tobacco stolen during a burglary earlier in the night of July 9.
Mr Warren said Large had been before the courts for 84 previous offences, including 27 for theft and 10 burglaries.
David Rees, defending, said Large had battled drug addiction for many years and suggested he had shown remorse.
Large, of no fixed address, was jailed for three years after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.
