Pedestrian killed in Cardiff crash is named

A sixty eight year old man who died following a crash on Penarth Road has been named as father and grandfather Michael Day.

The crash happened on Penarth Road on Friday, August 25 outside the Barons Court pub at the Cogan Spur junction just after 8:30am.

Mr Day of Windsor Road in Penarth was a pedestrian when he was involved in the crash with an articulated low loader-type vehicle which was carrying a forklift truck.

Mr Day's family has paid tribute to him saying:

South Wales Police is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision who have not already contacted them to come forward.
