Today: An icy start for some in the north with sleet or snow in places. It will be windy, though this will ease through the day. There will be sunny spells and frequent wintry showers, some turning heavy at times. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight: Wintry showers will continue overnight, most frequent and heavy across northern and western parts. Otherwise it will be dry and cold, with frost and ice in places. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Friday: A frosty and icy start for some, with sunny spells and some wintry showers likely through the day. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Frosty start on Saturday, then mainly dry and bright with the odd shower. Overnight and into Sunday turning wet and windy. Milder on Monday but still likely to be unsettled.
