Police say no suspicious circumstances after bodies of a man and woman are found near New Quay coastal path

Dyfed Powys Police says that whilst the cause of death of two people found on a coastal path near New Quay remains 'unexplained', the circumstances are not believed to be suspicious.

The bodies of a man and a woman were found on a path near New Quay, Ceredigion, on Wednesday evening.

The police investigation in to the sudden death of a man and woman, whose bodies were found on the coastal path near New Quay, is ongoing, and our sympathies are with their families at this sad time.

Post mortems have been carried out today (6 April), and while the cause of the two deaths remains unexplained, the circumstances are not believed to be suspicious.

I am appealing for anyone who was walking along the coastal path around Coybal Farm, near Newquay, or who was on the water near that area, between 6pm and 12am (midnight) on Sunday, April 1, to speak to police by calling 101.

I’d like to thank the local community for their support and patience while we work to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident, and extend that thanks to the police officers, and Coastguard, who have been working hard in challenging weather conditions since Wednesday (4 April).
