It is understood Cornelly United had been playing a game at their home pitch when a "number of people" were hit by a car.
South Wales Police say they were called to Meadow Street, North Cornelly, Bridgend shortly before 8pm last night.
None of the injuries are thought to be life threatening and the people taken to hospital have now been discharged.
A tweet from the club says "Thank you for all your kind messages, we’re truly shocked by tonight’s events, but thankfully, no player is critical."
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and is in police custody.
South Wales Police said it is aware a "number of people were at the club at the time of the incident whom will have captured the incident on their phones".
Investigating officers are urging people not to circulate the videos on social media as it could "frustrate" the investigation. It is asking anyone with any footage or information to pass it on to police and to delete anything uploaded to social media.
