A 33-year-old woman continues to be questioned by police in connection with the suspected murder of a 39-year-old man in Cardiff.

Damian Hill suffered fatal injuries after being assaulted in Oakfield Street in the Roath area of the city at about 2.20am on Sunday.

Mr Hill, from the Adamsdown area, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales but died of his injuries.

His family are being supported by specially-trained family liaison officers.

Detectives have this afternoon been granted further time by magistrates to question a 33-year-old woman arrested in connection with the death.

A 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, previously arrested have been released from custody and no further action will be taken against them.

Police are still appealing for information from anyone who was in the area and who may have heard or witnessed the incident.

We are particularly keen to speak to a man who was speaking to Mr Hill while he was waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
