A dog was found dead and wrapped in a duvet in a shopping trolley on a Cardiff pathway.
A member of the public found the dog on Sunday at around 4.55pm and alerted RSPCA Cymru.
The dog - who had a swollen stomach - was found on a pathway off Jim Driscoll Way, running alongside the River Taff.
RSPCA say she may have died as a consequence of an untreated growth to her abdomen.
An RSPCA inspector has said being dumped in this way marked a “miserable end" for the poor dog.
RSPCA Cymru is now calling on the local community to come forward with any information potentially related to this sad incident.
