A fire crew from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are continuing to fight a grass and forest fire that reignited this morning near Aberystwyth.

The fire broke out on Tuesday and at its height a helicopter was flown in to help tackle the blaze.

It was extinguished yesterday but reignited this morning due to the hot weather and swirling winds.

The fire service is once again being assisted by a helicopter to tackle the fire.

Elsewhere in the North crews are doing the same after a grass fire overnight near Harlech.

It broke out yesterday evening at Talsarnau. Firefighters had to leave the scene at around 11pm because it was too dangerous to approach. An area of around 4,000 square metres has been affected.
