Monmouth teenager chosen for Team GB at Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships
A teenager from Monmouth is the only person from Wales to have been chosen to represent Team GB at the Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships.
Dylan Hughes, 15, trains four times a week, all while studying for his exams.
He's always been a big personality, but he is much more outgoing, he is very confident now that he's qualified for Canada.
– Rachel Lynch-Warden, swimming coach
Nothing much fazes him really, he's probably far less nervous about it than we are! I think it's really exciting - it's a great opportunity. I think you always want your children to maximise their potential and obviously I think Dylan's a great example where even though he has some additional challenges, he's really enthusiastic, works really hard and he can do great things in spite of those challenges really.
