Two Muslim organisations in Wales have responded to the new UKIP Assembly leader's comments on women wearing the burka.

The Muslim Council of Wales said Gareth Bennett is "wrong to describe the face-veil as 'alien' and 'pre-medieval'".

Mr Bennett said that he would rather muslims didn't wear the burka or niqab because it didn't show an attempt at integration into British society.

But Sahar Al-Faifi from the Muslim Engagement and Development (MEND) organisation said: "Integration is about being an active citizen, contributing to society, being proud of who you are".
