Celebrations have been held at Cardiff Castle to mark the Prince of Wales' 70th birthday.

Prince Charles' birthday has been celebrated with a Royal Gun Salute in the grounds of the castle. The ceremony was organised by the 160th Infantry Brigade.

Military music accompanied the celebrations, played by The Band of the Prince of Wales's Division.

Elsewhere the Prince is celebrating his birthday with a tea party at St James' Palace. Charles and Camilla are hosting 70 other people who were born in the same year – 1948.
