Mark Drakeford is expected to be voted in as the new First Minister at a vote in the Senedd.
The new Welsh Labour leader will take over from Carwyn Jones, who stepped down from the post on Tuesday after nearly a decade.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Presiding Officer of the Senedd will invite nominations from Assembly Members. Plaid Cymru leader Adam Price and the leader of the Welsh Conservative Group are also expected to put themselves forward.
Mark Drakeford will need to get at least thirty votes from AMs to take up the role.
