Clermont struck first in the tenth minute with a try from Pato Fernandez. Minutes later things got worse for the Dragons after Aaron Wainwright was sent to the bin for an offside offence.

The visitors scored again in the fifteenth, seventeenth, and twenty-third minutes taking the score up to 28 points to zero.

Another try made it 35 unanswered points at the break.

Play relented for the Dragons more in the second half, with a few more opportunities for the home team. But the game began to get scrappier towards the closing minutes, with the Dragons frustrated at the lack of score.

Clermont hit again in the seventy fifth minute. Another try took the score up to 49-0.

But it was finally the Dragons turn in the final minute of the game. A try from Jordan Williams put the home side on the scoreboard with a conversion from Josh Lewis making it 7 points.

Final score 7 - 54 and a win for Clermont.
