An orphaned donkey has found her 'forever family' after moving in with two sheep.

Miniature donkey cross, Roberta, was born in December at Folly Farm in Kilgetty, Pembrokeshire .

But she was left orphaned after her mum died shortly after giving birth.

The keepers at Folly Farm decided to hand rear the young donkey themselves.

They provided round-the-clock care even staying up to feed Roberta at 2am.

We only hand rear animals when absolutely necessary, but after losing mum Margi we had to step in!

It has taken a lot of dedication to ensure Roberta has the best start but it has been worth it.

She is doing brilliantly and has certainly stolen our hearts.

– Jane Hill, Farm Manager

The miniature donkey now lives with two sheep, Lamby and Snowy, who have taken on the role of adoptive-parents.

Assistant Farm Manager, Kim Brickell said the three of them often cuddle up or play together and have become an "adorable little family."
