Man charged with murder after death of pensioner in Neath

The body of David Phillips was found at the property.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of a 76-year-old man in the Cimla area of Neath.

South Wales Police were called to Lime Grove at 9.16pm on Thursday, February 14th, following reports of a disturbance.

The body of David Phillips was found at the property.

Tom Carney, from Morriston, Swansea, will appear before Swansea Magistrates Court today.

Detective Chief Inspector Darren George is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

I would like to thank the local community for their assistance to date, a number of whom have come forward and provided important information.

A 27-year-old man has today been charged with the murder of David Phillips, and I would also like to reassure the public that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this time.
