Wales has enjoyed the warmest Easter Sunday on record, according to the Met Office.

Temperatures in Trawsgoed, near Aberystwyth, reached a sizzling 23°C, beating the previous record of 21.6°C in Brynamman in 1984.

In stark contrast, Spain and the Mediterranean are seeing showers and heavy downpours with Barcelona only reaching 17°C.

Marco Petagna from the Met Office said high pressure in the UK is behind the high temperatures.
