12-year-old boy airlifted to hospital after falling from cliffs at Rhossili

The boy was rescued on Tuesday afternoon.

A boy has escaped a 45ft from cliffs at Rhossili with just "cuts and bruises".

The 12-year-old had been playing on the cliffs in the Gower Peninsula when he fell on Tuesday afternoon.

Despite a 45ft descent, the boy escaped with no serious injuries.

Rhossili Coastguard were called to the scene at approximately 3pm.

A spokesperson for Rhossili Coastguard said the child had "sustained lots of cuts and bruises" but otherwise seemed "ok".

He sustained lots of cuts and bruises with a nasty cut to the head, but seemed otherwise ok.

He was rushed to Cardiff hospital by air ambulance for further examination and treatment.

He was a very lucky young lad.
