Homes have been evacuated following a large fire on Kilvey Hill overlooking Swansea.
46 firefighters worked through the night to tackle the blaze, which was first reported shortly before 7:30pm on Thursday evening.
At its height eight fire appliances and a water bowser were at the scene from Swansea Central, Swansea West, Gorseinon, Pontardulais, Neath, Morriston, Llanelli and Tumble.
The service described an operation to protect properties as "arduous" on "dangerous terrain".
Meanwhile there have also been fires on the Rhigos and Gelli Mountains and at Rudry Common.
