Former Wales winger Mickey Thomas has revealed that he is now cancer free after a successful operation.
The 64-year-old posted a tweet to say that he is now on the 'long road to recovery' and will still receive nine weeks of chemotherapy treatment 'as an insurance policy'.
The football legend told ITV News earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
In a tweet, Mickey thanked people for their support and praised the hospital staff that operated him and helped him with his treatment.
Thomas won 51 caps for Wales and spent three years at United between 1978 and 1981, making over 100 appearances for the Red Devils.
