We are aware that there were a number of people in the area at the time, near the Student’s Union in Park Place and on Corbett Road in the vicinity of the Woodville pub, so we are hoping that people will be able to assist our murder investigation. I’m asking for anyone who saw or heard anything that they think could have been relevant to call us.

Police added the victim is believed to be a local man who is not a student at the university. His family are being supported by specially trained officers.
