A runner has died while taking part in the Swansea Half Marathon.
A statement on the Swansea Half marathon website says: "With regret, we can confirm a participant has died at the JCP Swansea Half Marathon on Sunday 23, June 2019.
"We are working closely with all emergency services into the circumstances of the incident.
"Our deepest condolences go to their family and friends at this time."
Organisers later confirmed the runner received medical attention after he collapsed at the 13-mile point.
He was treated at the scene and taken to Morriston Hospital, where he later died.
"St John medics and emergency services dealt with this emergency with great speed and professionalism. Everyone connected with the race is devastated by this incident and our thoughts are with the family of the runner at this very difficult time.
"We are in close contact with the family concerned and they have advised us that they do not wish the share any other information at this time."
An estimated 5,000 people took part in the event which starts at Brangwyn Hall and curves around the coast of Swansea Bay.
