Swansea war memorial vandalised with anarchy symbols

A memorial to the war dead was vandalised overnight with red paint and slogans in Swansea

The Boer War Memorial on Swansea’s seafront was vandalised with anarchy symbols, and the words ‘smash empire’ and ‘troops out’.

The action has caused upset to many, including those who have family members recorded on the memorial, which recognises the ultimate sacrifice made by local residents during the South African War, 1900-1902.
