Hottest August bank holiday weekend on record as temperatures hit 28°C in Gogerddan

A new record for the hottest August bank holiday weekend temperature has been set in Wales.

The Met Office said Gogerddan near Aberystwyth has recorded temperatures of 28.2°C.

They say it's the highest temperature recorded on an August bank holiday weekend since 1971.

A few hours ago the Met Office posted a tweet revealing Gogerddan had reached 27.4°C.
