Firefighter who died in Cleddau waterway boat crash named as Joshua Gardener

The firefighter who died in the boat crash at Cleddau waterway yesterday morning has been named as Joshua Gardener.

The 35-year-old from Milford Haven worked with the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

The incident happened between Lawrenny and Neyland.

Specialist officers are continuing to support the family at this very difficult time and our thoughts remain with them and with his colleagues at Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

We are working alongside the Marine Accident Investigation Board to ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted in order to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragic death.

Dyfed-Powys Police were called to the marina on Tuesday, after reports of a crash involving two fire brigade boats during a training exercise.

One other firefighter had minor injuries from the incident.

Police said the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is continuing.
