Car spotted on A48 with ladder sticking out of window

A car has been spotted driving along a dual carriageway with a ladder sticking out of its window.

The vehicle was seen on the A48 out of Cardiff towards Llanedeyrn at around 9:30am on Wednesday.

The blue Citroen was driving in the left-hand lane and the ladder was sticking out the passenger window into the hard shoulder.

The Department for Transport say that overloaded vehicles can be a danger to the driver, passengers and other road users.

If a vehicles’ gross or axle weight limits are exceeded when weighed by either Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the police or trading standards officers, the company and/or driver risk prosecution.

Unfortunately there have been other incidents of overloaded driving. In August, a driver was fined and given three points for driving with a second car on top of his.
