A body has been found in the search for a missing 22-year-old from Merthyr Tydfil.
South Wales Police Police said officers carrying out searches of rivers as part of the investigation into Brooke Morris' disappearance, located the body of a woman in a stretch of the River Taff on Wednesday afternoon.
Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Brooke’s family have been informed and continue to be supported by officers.
Brooke was last seen in the early hours of Saturday morning where police said she was given a lift home after a night out by people known to her - but they did not believe she entered her home.
Specially trained officers were focussing their search in the Trelewis and surrounding areas, including in and around local waterways and woods.
Alexandra Hartley gives the latest from Treharris following the development:
Hundreds of people from the local community have been taking part in the search for her and many used social media to appeal for information on Brooke's whereabouts.
