A 95-year-old man who died in a traffic collision on Monday has been named as Douglas Christopherson from the Bagillt area.
He died when his car collided with a transit pick up on the A548 on the morning of 14th October.
His family described him as “a much loved father, step-father, grandfather and great-grandfather” and want to thank all those who were at the scene “especially the emergency services”.
His family wish to place on record our enormous gratitude to those at the scene… who worked hard to extract Doug from his vehicle and attempt to revive and comfort him. Sadly, without success, despite their heroic efforts. We must also thank the subsequent well-wishers, most of whom did not know Doug.
The Police are continuing to investigate the incident which involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a transit pick-up. Mr Christopherson, who was driving the Corsa, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sergeant Steve Richards of the Roads Policing Unit is appealing for any information on the collision.
