Tech-savvy 79-year-old from Pontypool wins Queen's Award

A 79-year-old "tech driven" business owner is being presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise.

Graham Waters owns Airbond Splicers in Pontypool. He is said to be more tech driven than most business owners half his age.

He is being recognised for inventing new forms of yarn splicers to help the textiles and composites industries.

The awards are made annually by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and are awarded for outstanding achievement in international trade, innovation, sustainable development and promoting opportunity (through social mobility).
