Heavy snowfall across parts of Wales has been causing disruption with road closures and delays.

Areas in the Rhondda and Swansea Valley saw snow fall from Wednesday evening. A yellow 'be aware' warning was in place until 10am.

Cars were left stranded on the A4109 last night between Seven Sisters and Banwen in Neath Port Talbot after heavy snowfall made the road impassable.

Road closures:

  • A465 Heads Of The Valleys Road closed both ways due to snow from A4059 Hirwaun Road (Hirwaun Roundabout, Hirwaun) to A470 (Cefn Coed Roundabout, Cefn Coed);

  • A4221 Powys between Abercrave and Coelbren is impassable due to heavy snowfall;

  • A482 closed between Ciliau-Aeron and Felinfach due to fallen tree and a large amount of snow that has fallen across mid Wales on Wednesday evening;

  • A4109 blocked due to snow between Seven Sisters and Banwen. Police report various stranded vehicles along this stretch with the road impassable north of Seven Sisters;
