Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a shop in Rhyl.

The robbery happened just before 10:30pm on Thursday night at the Co-op store on Ffordd Elan in the town.

A man entered the shop and threatened staff with a weapon before making off on foot with a quantity of cash.

Police say the man is described as being approximately six feet tall and of medium build. He was wearing a grey hoodie, dark trousers and a black face covering.

Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the store and saw a man acting suspiciously at the time, or who may have been driving past the location with a dash cam on board to contact police.

This was an upsetting incident for those in the shop but thankfully no one was injured.
